We helped out a friend who was feeling overwhelmed with her mess of an apartment. Mostly, she needed to make the small space work as a home office, as well as, well, a home. We switched out the desk and the ugly bookshelves, pronto, picking pieces in glass, chrome and white lacquer. We then stacked the shelves with plum and taupe colored linen file boxes- perfect for work organization, and much cooler than some dumb old file cabinet.
The wall sconces add some much needed style, while also giving much needed light. Oh, and the white leather office chair. And the
deep purple Flor tiles. Now THIS is the apartment of a stylish TV producer on the go, no? Yes. Xo.

ReplyDeleteIt is true. We just find they move light around a room to where you need it- and this one can go up and down as well, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteAlso, when we were young, a kindly swing-arm lamp took us in from the cold and we vowed to always honor their kindness through our constant recognition.
